Photo Tips: Take several photos variety is spice of life

Tried some different things here to understand the camera I was using and the scene. First, as you know I like to add things to the picture, not physically but compositionally. A beach by itself is not that interesting most of the time.

Hollywood Beach 1

I wanted the pathway arches or wall to the beach in the picture. The palm trees are part of the ambiance of Florida. The sky was very interesting.

I found I could tilt the camera up or down and getting very different lighting. Of course this is one of those camera with a screen that is difficult to see in sunlight and there is no eye piece.

Photo Tips Thursday Beach Yellow Umbrellas

The colors, lines, and forms make this picture work well. Using the lines from left to top right to bring the eye to the Beach waterfront. The lines in the decking lined up with the seating and umbrellas was easy to capture because it was setup that way. Having the umbrellas in the forefront just left of center allows room in the center for your eye to travel throughout the picture from the flowers to the umbrellas.

Many elements of design are captured in this picture. The ropes, stakes (poles), flower bucket, flowers, white eating tables, yellow umbrellas, wood decking, rocks, sand, and waterfront all line up with their many shapes and forms to create a tranquil setting. Another picture postcard to draw people to this idyllic scene.

Beaches of the United States of America Coast lines range from sandy to rocky as you go up each coast. The east coast the water is warmer from the Gulf stream while the West coast has more surfers. West coast feels different too, maybe the rotation of the water, or the energy, but it is definitely different.
