Photo Tips Photo Thursday Tahoe Gal
Lake Tahoe, California – Love the way this photo came out. Using the tree and foreground grasses we have the illusion of the boat arriving. Waiting for the right moment where the boat was approaching the dock yet still hidden partially sometimes takes patience.
The trawler boat in the background adds to the depth for the eye to travel back to the mountains and come forward again to the Tahoe Gal and back to the clouds. Find the right moment to click. Click more than once if there is time. In this case I got the one photograph.
I did use some adjustment of the Shadows and Highlights to bring out the green of the tree. The color was a little washed from the bright sun. Being able to make a picture pop even more with minor adjustments is something I am experimenting with.
I have always taken pride in my ability to have a picture right out of the camera. That is how I sold them years ago. Now I am learning to enhance some pictures to make them even better.
Serenity is my theme
I find it interesting that I don’t feel serene but in my pictures I capture and create a calmness that must be somewhere deep inside me. This is my muse. My Serenity when I look at my pictures after is both comforting to my spirit and to my soul. Nature does that to me to. Buildings. Architecture. Objects. Boats. All of these subjects play apart in my Serenity.
Soon I want to combine my pictures with my words as I did in the past on Cards I sold or 8 x 11 poster like pictures where perhaps they can be a product people will buy. Finding other ways to share my photographic picturesque work and make a living is a quest I have been on for some time. The Craft Fair and consignment shops were very time consuming even though the sales were good and meeting the people fun.
Love capturing the Art of the moment and presenting it as a Serene Moment. Photowalks are another way to do that. Travel Posting at Freelance Tourist show more pictures and places of Interest.

I also love the tree in front of the boat, it gives the photo a lot of perspective. I’m still working on being more patient to keep clicking until I get the right photo.

Lovely shot, Eileen! I didn’t realize that they had paddlewheel boats like this on Lake Tahoe.

Nice photo, Eileen. Patience is often my problem when trying to get a particular shot. I guess I should work on that. Thanks for sharing your tips!

Learning Patience is easier once you see the results of waiting for people to move or a boat to get in the right place – Love seeing everyone’s pictures on Thursday round up

I really like how you lined up the tree too. The boat seems like it’s peeking out! Great shot.

Great photo–beware of Lake Tahoe–I found out the hard way that the water is WAY to cold for swimming!
